Finally, more storage. Though 48mb isn't
that big compared to some of the memory cards on the market, it way better then 8mb.
The card is much smaller then I expected it to be, and very light (as it should
be). I received mine in a large Priority mail envelope, which at first was surprising
to me, but when you think about it, unless the whole card breaks, there is really nothing
that is going to make it not function. I also use the PCMCIA adapter to get my music
files on to the card. Boy is that easy. Just plug it in. The drivers are
all on Windows. You don't have to format the card or anything, it just shows up as
another hard drive (and a very fast one that that). The transfer rate seems
virtually the same is right off my hard drive or off my PDA's memory
(though in actuality it is slower). There are a
few things you must get used to on your device though. I recommend getting Condiuts'
Yes software so when running on batteries, you don't get those "are you sure you want
to use this card" dialog boxes. You also should note that when viewing your My
Documents (when you have a card in), all files on your card in the My Documents folder and
the files in the device's My Documents folder are "merged" (really linked).
Also, you must create a My Documents folder on your storage card to really be able
to use it. Otherwise you can't find anything.
Really, a flash memory card is a must have for most
any PDA user that doesn't just want to do contacts and address
books. It has been great for MP3's and my friends find the large
cards great for storing MPEG and movie files.
